Originally a lowly legionaire in the great army of the Roman Empire, Alexander quickly tired of his life laying seige to the one village in all of Gaul that had resisted the Roman occupation; he had many welts and bruises from fighting these unnaturally strong proto-Frenchman.
Upon reaching old age and dying, Alexander discovered he had the secret of bodily regeneration - the ability to extend his life and alter his appearance when his life is under threat. Alexander crops up throughout history, always seeming to appear when trouble looms, and death is sure to follow for those around him.
His most recent regeneration took place sometime in the late twentieth century; having used up all of the regenerations granted to him, he was forced to shift his mind and consciousness into that of a fourteen year old Londoner, recovering from a mystery virus in hospital. Rather than revealing himself, to this day the great Alexander occupies the life of this useless young man. While trying to keep a low profile, he has broken cover to appear on the London stage several times, as well as writing and drawing somewhat.
It remains to be seen if this incarnation of Alexander is able to match the achievments of his past. After all, Mr Da Vinci will never know how lucky he was that a cross-dresser with a strange half-smile just happened to be passing that day. Nor will Michaelangelo know how lucky he was to find the perfect model for his spectacular sculpture of David on that sweltering day in Italy.
All this and more; the handiwork of Alexander...
